"We are thrilled with the overwhelming interest and enthusiasm for the 2018 Greenwich Town Party," said Ray Rivers, the event's co-president, in a statement. "We want to thank everyone who purchased Community tickets this morning."
Tickets went live at 10 a.m. and all 5,600 were gone within a few minutes for the May 26 event, Rivers said.
"It worked as a lottery, everyone online at 10 a.m. had an equal chance to make a purchase of up to six tickets," he added.
Now in its eighth year, the all-day family-friendly music festival brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving.
Besides, Clapton, the day will be full of fun events for kids, family-friendly music and lots of great food. It's meant to bring together the town's residents to help usher in summer and to get to know each other.
"Our goal has always been to bring people together to celebrate the strength of the community and enjoy a day of amazing music, food, family, and friends,” Rivers said.
